BBC Radio 92.50 FM Is Down!

British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) radio is down, a check by Brainnews on its Frequency Modulation (FM) stationed at 92.50 FM was down without any active programme at 12:32PM (Nigerian Time).

The service, Brainnews believes started malfunctioning on Sunday, August 23 as early as 12PM (Nigerian Time) or earlier.

Tuning in to the station at 92.50 FM, a recorded sound can be heard saying: “You with the BBC.., we are sorry but we are unable to bring your usual service at this time.. we are working to restore normal service as soon as possible and don’t forget you can always keep up-to-date with the latest world news at bbc.com/news.”

BBC is the world’s oldest national broadcaster, and the largest broadcaster in the world by number of employees.

It employs over 22,000 staff in total, more than 16,000 of whom are in public sector broadcasting. The total number of staff is 35,402 when part-time, flexible, and fixed-contract staff are included.

At the time of this report, Brainnews is not clear if the disruption in service only affect Nigeria, Africa or the Frequency Modulation (FM), also we were unable to reach out to SW (Short Wave) version of the station (BBC) for further investigation.
