President Of Ghana Akufo-Addo Elected As New ECOWAS Chairman

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has been elected as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS).

This took place at the ongoing 57th ECOWAS Summit in Niamey, Republic of Niger.
Speaking at the summit, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari called on other African leaders to stop elongating their tenure in office, revealed that it was becoming a source of trouble.
The wife of Ghanaian President, Rebecca Akufo-Addo was one of the first to congratulate her husband in his new office.
She wrote;
“Congratulations to my dear husband @NAkufoAddo for being elected as the new chair of ECOWAS.”
