Dr Vivien Otu, a female medical doctor who was abducted by some armed gunmen weeks ago has regained her freedom.
The Chairman of Nigeria Medical Association in Cross River, Dr. Innocent Abang made this known to reporters in a telephone interview on Friday in Calabar.
On August 28, Dr Otu was kidnapped in Calabar, and released on the night of Thursday, September 3.
“I can authoritatively confirm to you that our colleague have been freed from captivity.
“We thank the state government, the security agencies, the media and the entire stakeholders for their selfless contributions in ensuring her release,” Abang said.
Equally, DSP Irene Ugbo, the State Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the release of the abducted doctor.
