On Sunday, Nigerians went online to revealed that their expired DSTV and GoTV channels had become active even without subscription, Brainnews report.
With this.. many went ahead to believe that the company has been hacked.
Findings by Brainnews has revealed that Multichoice, the parent company of DSTV and GoTV days ago had given an announcement that its services will observe an upgrade with effect from October 17.
Nigerians had praised anonymous hackers for this, but it is unrelated as such claim is false, Brainnews can confirmed.
Further findings has shown that upgrade of such takes place two to three times in a year.
The conclusion of the upgrade may put an end to the free channels later on Monday or Tuesday.
Nigerians should enjoy the free channels while it last.
