The long awaited Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU strike might end anytime soon, Brainnews report.

The federal government in recent weeks had directed that the Federal Government owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria, as well as Federal Government Colleges, otherwise known as Unity Schools should resume academic activities after months of break due to the coronavirus.
In recent weeks, ASUU has been in talks with the federal government which usually ends in failure.
Just few days ago, ASUU accused the federal government of blackmailing university workers into enrolling on Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
A university lecturer in Nigeria who spoke to Brainnews on condition of anonymity, said: “Some university chapters of the ASUU are having success with its various meetings. I can assure you that the strike will soon be called off, if not this week (11th to 17th October), the month of October might not exceed. If possible 2021 will not meet the strike.”
“The federal government are not listening to us, and if it continue this way, the strike will not end soon,” he concluded.
