1. US election: European observer accuses Trump of ‘gross abuse of office’

The head of an international observer mission to the US elections accused Donald Trump on Thursday of a “gross abuse of office” after the president alleged he was being cheated and demanded that vote counting be halted.

“The most disturbing thing was that with presidential fanfare of the White House, that is, with all the insignia of power, the American commander-in-chief called for an end to the count because of his purported victory,” Michael Link from the told the German daily Stuttgarter Zeitung.

2. US election: Trump supporters protest at Arizona collation centre

Supporters of United States President, Donald Trump, some of whom are suspected to be armed, have surrounded Maricopa County Election Department, Arizona, protesting the election.

A video of the protest broadcast on CNN, showed many of the protesters carrying Trump banners and placards, expressing their frustration over a projection by a cable network that the Democratic party would win the state’s 11 electoral college votes.

Former Vice-President Joe Biden, who is the Democratic candidate, is currently leading the race in Arizona albeit by a small percentage.

3. Trump considers legal battle as Biden leads in US presidential election

Democratic Presidential candidate, Joe Biden took significant strides towards winning the presidency on Wednesday.

But the Trump campaign team vowed to reverse them at the vote count and in the courts, ushering in a potentially prolonged endgame to the election and sparking tension across the United States.

Biden was called the winner in the critical battleground of Wisconsin, and was ahead in Arizona, Michigan and Nevada, while Republican President Donald Trump held leads in Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina.

4. US election: Tension in Detroit as Trump supporters want counting suspended

Some Donald Trump supporters protested in Detroit demanding a halt to ballot counting in the key state of Michigan.

This is as thousands of Joe Biden supporters marched Wednesday evening in New York to demand every vote in the tight presidential election be counted.

The Detroit protest outside a ballot processing center were far more tense, according to an AFP photographer and clips on social media.
