The United States President Donald Trump has won the state of Alaska.

This is according to CNN and Associated Press projections on Wednesday.

AFP reported that Trump’s victory in Alaska put another three electoral votes in his column.

This brings Trump’s total electoral college votes to 217 as against Joe Biden’s 279.

Biden is already projected to win the US presidential election, according to major US media.

He needed at least 270 votes in the Electoral College, which ultimately decides the presidency.

The PUNCH learnt that even if Trump wins all three remaining states, he cannot reach 270.

However, there are indications that votes may be recounted in some states after Trump alleged fraud.
