1. 20 Nigerian Doctors Died In Last One Week Over COVID-19 — NMA
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Friday disclosed that at least 20 doctors have lost their lives to COVID-19 in the last one week.
It therefore urged the general public to adhere strictly to the non-pharmaceutical protocols of hand washing, sanitizing, properly wearing face masks, and maintaining social distancing. It also urged patients to ensure full disclosure of medical history of COVID-19 or COVID-19 related occurrences, so that health workers can better protect themselves while providing quality health care services. 2. Eastern Security Network: Security Outfit Not Illegal – IPOB
IPOB in a statement issued on Saturday by its leader (Kanu) through the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful said contrary to the positions of the southeast governors, that the security network is legal.

4. Akwa Ibom Govt Confirms Former Governor Nkanga Died Of COVID-19
The Akwa Ibom state government has finally confirmed the death of its first indigenous governor, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga (retd) almost two days after the rumours of the demise of the elder statesman filtered out Friday morning.
The government in a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem on Saturday said Nkanga died December 24 from Covid-19 complications. CONTINUE READING..
5. Why ASUU Suspended Its 9-Month-Old Strike
As heart-soothing as the news may sound, however, the ASUU boss, Prof. Abiodun Ogunyemi was quoted to have said “the union would return to strike without notice if the government failed in meeting its part of the agreement reached with the university lecturers.”

6. 7 Coronavirus Patients Die In Hospital Fire In Egypt
Five other people were injured in the blaze that razed the intensive care unit of the hospital in Obour district.
