Governors of the 36 states in the country are expected to publicly take the Coronavirus vaccine on March 10.

The agreement was reached at an emergency meeting which was attended by Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF); Osagie Ehanire, health minister; and Chikwe Ihekweazu, director-general of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and convened to discuss the distribution of the vaccine.

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi conveyed the decision in a statement released on Thursday March 4.

Fayemi who gave an assurance of the vaccine being safe, urged Nigerians to register on the National Primary Health Care Development Agency website – nphcsaict.com.ng/publicreg for the vaccine.

It is also expected that frontline workers will receive their vaccination alongside the president and vice-president on Saturday March 6.
