Murder in Wilberforce Island as Undergraduate Shoots Fellow Undergraduate During Class Hours


A sad report has reached us today from Niger Delta University, NDU, Wilberforce Island, Amassomma, Bayelsa State.

The report has it that while a class session was ongoing at the faculty of Management Sciences, a level 300 undergraduate in Accounting of the aforementioned university by name African Innocent shot a fellow undergraduate to death.

The victim who goes by the name James Okunmakpeye was at the door of the lecture hall where the class was ongoing. It is said that he was giving reasons as demanded by the lecturer why he was late to class when another student came from behind and shot him in the head.

According to the reports, Okunmakpeye died instantly while everyone in the class including the lecturer took to their heels leaving the blooded corpse.

The culprit is said to have escaped through a side of the school fence which was not completely raised.

The Institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Ingezi Idoni is said to have confirmed the incident and reported to security agents.

The Bayelsa State Police Command through its spokesman reported later that a suspect who goes by the name African Innocent has been nabbed and is in the custody. And that further investigations are being done to bring all the persons involved in the murder to justice.
