Manchester United manager, Ole Solskjaer expresses approval over Cavani’s contract extension.

Ole according to Manchester Evening News (MEN), pointed that Cavani is the best No. 9 at the moment, and that he will do better next season.

He said, “I think we’ve seen the last few months what we can expect and what we want from him,” Solskjaer said. “Next season, he’ll come ready, he’ll be fit when he comes in pre-season.

This year, he had seven months of no football to catch up, which is not easy, and he’s had a couple of niggles because of that. Just the same professionalism.

“He comes in every day, does everything right. The boys look at him. He gives us a number nine position. I don’t know how many games we’ll get out of him but he’s one of the best number nines in the world at the moment.”

Cavani since his arrival from France’s Paris Saint German, PSG, have showed himself approved as one of the best strikers of this generation, in spite of his age and little time of game due to injury around February and March.

The 34-year old Uruguayan has netted 9 goals so far in 24 Premier league appearances for The Red Devils, since his debut in December, and 15 in all competitions.

Cavani has also performed greatly in the European Europa League, scoring severally alongside young Greenwood.

Manchester United have opted on retaining him for another season, making him the best option as it is clear that Martial might be leaving soon.
