Liverpool is in second place and is shelling out £325m to pay their players.
United is next with £284m, while Chelsea closely trails them with £283m.
Arsenal’s wage bill for last season sits at £225m and the top six is completed by Tottenham Hotspur, who are still only paying nearly half of City’s overall salary contributions at £181m.
