We Still Believe In Our Leader - IPOB

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday said its members still believed in their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu despite his travails.

IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, said nothing must happen to the separatist leader while in custody.

He said in a statement: “The global family of IPOB reaffirms our unalloyed loyalty, belief and confidence in our leader Nnamdi Kanu.

“Biafrans are united behind him in his current ordeals in the hands of our oppressors.

“We also wish to remind the Nigerian government that nothing should happen to our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”

IPOB accused President Uhuru Kenyetta of Kenya and his government of betraying Kanu by handing him over to Nigerian authorities.

The group threatened to take Kenyetta and his ‘collaborators’ to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

It urged “Biafrans” to boycott travels with Kenya airlines, stop patronising any product made in Kenya and not do any business with Kenyans.

The group insisted that its leader was not arrested, but abducted.

It said: “Uhuru Kenyatta…should get ready to meet us at the International Criminal Court. This act…against our leader…, a British citizen with British International Passport…will not go unpunished…”
