Nuno has confirmed Ndombele will play no part but Kane could be in line to feature with just days of the transfer window remaining

Harry Kane is set to be included in Tottenham Hotspur’s squad for the first time this season for the trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Spurs’ wantaway striker missed the 1-0 win over his suitors, Manchester City, on the opening weekend.

The 28-year-old was then named in the squad to face Pacos de Ferreira in the Uefa Conference League before being left behind at Hotspur Way to continue working on his fitness.

Kane has just 10 days left to force a move to the Etihad in a saga that has become increasingly acrimonious, not least because of his prolonged absence after spending the summer on international duty with England.

Nuno confirmed he is being assessed and insisted he would need to make a “wise decision” regarding his vice-captain.

“He’ll train tomorrow and tomorrow we’ll make a decision,” he said on Friday. “I’m so sorry to keep on saying the same things but this is how we work. It’s a day-by-day situation and decisions are made when we feel that we should make them, and we will make the decision on who’s going to travel tomorrow.”

It remains to be seen whether he will actually be given any minutes on the pitch, but one man who will not be involved is Tanguy Ndombele, who has reportedly informed Spurs he wants to leave.

Nuno said of the club’s record signing: “What happened in the past I can’t even think about, I don’t mention out of respect.

“What I can tell you is that Tanguy is with us, he works but we have to speak honestly and to take the best out of Tanguy [it] has to come from himself.

“I don’t want to go much further than that but it has to come from himself. We already had a chance to talk but it must come from himself. I said it before, my job here is not to convince players to play for Tottenham Hotspur, it is to prepare players to play for Tottenham Hotspur.”

Meanwhile, Hugo Lloris will become the first Tottenham player to make 300 Premier League appearances for the club at Molineux.

Spurs will ring the changes after the 1-0 defeat in Europe on Thursday, with new signing Cristian Romero unlikely to start as he is being brought back gradually from a knee injury.

Joe Rodon is still absent after sustaining an injury in the warm-down against City, while Cameron Carter-Vickers has an ankle problem.

Predicted XI: Lloris, Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon; Skipp, Hojbjerg, Alli; Lucas, Son, Bergwijn
