TTM End Opening Weekend – Top Of The Glad-Africa Championship Standing

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila ended the first weekend of the 2021/22 GladAfrica Championship season atop of the standings.

The Limpopo club, who made a swift return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) with the purchase of Royal AM’s second division status, beat Cape Town All Stars 3-1 at Thohoyandou Stadium in one of five matches on Saturday.

Tebogo Reed, Lebogang Mlangeni and Tebogo Motloung found the back of the net for TTM as they got their campaign off to a positive start.
Elsewhere in Limpopo, Black Leopards and Polokwane City played to a 1-1 draw in Lidoda Duvha’s first match back in the GladAfrica Championship following their relegation from the DStv Premiership last season.
Hungry Lions started their second division venture with a 0-0 draw at home to Uthongathi FC while JDR Stars and TS Sporting beat the University of Pretoria and Pretoria Callies 1-0 respectively.
On Sunday, Cape Town Spurs were held to a 0-0 draw by Venda Football Academy while Platinum City Rovers got their campaign up and running with an impressive 1-0 win at Free State Stars on the back of a solitary strike from Lehlohonolo Mojela. 

Richards Bay FC, who finished third on the league standings last season, started their campaign with a 1-0 win away to Jomo Cosmos.
