The victims have since been rushed to the hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Speaking to Channels Television, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi, Mr. Solomon Agure, called on truck drivers to avoid passing the town.

According to him, the solution to the accident is for trucks to either pass during odd hours when the traffic is less or avoid plying Lokoja completely.

“The vehicle carrying drinks was going and the one that carried stone was also following, I hope there is an issue of brake failure who ran behind the container carrying drinks,” he said.

“The driver hooked. What we have is to strengthen our call on the state government and the stakeholders so that trucks this time should avoid this town. They should be passing in the odd hours when traffic is less, that is the only solution.”
