Two persons has died and eight others has been injured on Benin-Ore highway crash.
Two persons died while eight others were injured in a road accident at the J4 Ogbere (Ogun State) corridor of the Benin – Ore expressway.
The crash, which occurred on Sunday night, involved a bus marked APP86 7XZ and a company truck identified as SAMINO MOTORS with registration number KJA376 XN BENZ.
Superintendent Route Commander Florence Okpe, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Public Education Officer for Sector Commander FRSC Ogun Sector Command, Ahmed Umar, in statement, stated that the suspected cause of the accident was loss of control following speed by one of the involved vehicles.
“A total number of 10 persons were involved(05Male adult and 05 female adult ) number injured 08(03 Male adult 05 Female Adult). Unfortunately, 02 deaths were recorded from the crash 02 male adult)
“The Injured victims were taking to State General Hospital Ijebu-Ode while the dead were deposited at the morgue,” the statement reads.
The Sector Commander cautioned motorists against indulging in excessive speed, especially at night when visibility is poor and commiserated with the families of victims, urging them to contact the FRSC Ogbere Outpost for any enquiry.
