EFCC Arrests PDP Agent For Alleged Vote Buying

EFCC has arrested PDP agent for alleged vote buying over Ekiti poll.

According to The Nation, operatives of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) have arrested agent of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for allegedly attempting to buy votes in the ongoing Ekiti governorship poll.

The agent was arrested with a bag of cash as he was about to give money to electorates after casting their votes at Igbeyin, Ado-Ekiti where governorship candidate of Accord Party, Dr. Reuben Famuyibo voted.

It was gathered other parties agents on sighting the EFCC operatives took to their eels to avoid being caught and left the books containing list of voters that had voted and collected money.

The EFCC operatives who declined to speak with journalists whisked the PDP agent to unknown destination.

The development disrupted voting at the unit for some minutes before normalcy returned and voting continued.

The SDP governorship candidate, Segun alleged vote buying while speaking with newsmen after casting vote at his Ward 2, unit 6, Ifaki Ekiti.

”I have been told selling and buying of votes are ongoing in Ado and Oye-Ekiti. This is not allowed in the law. I want security to move in and stop those doing that,” he said.
