Bayelsa University Dean Burnt To Death

According to reports, a Bayelsa varsity dean has been burnt to death.

THE NATION report that Dr Ayasen Kemeakegha, the Dean of Students Affairs of the Bayelsa State-owned Niger Delta University, Amassoma, has died in a lone car accident.

Kemeakegha was reportedly burnt to death in the fatal crash that occurred on Saturday along Tombia-Amassoma Road in the state.

The deceased was reportedly alone in his Toyota Corolla vehicle with plate-number 06H 132 BY when the accident occurred.

Confirming the incident, the Bayelsa State Police Command said the police moved to the scene of the crash when information filtered in that an accident occurred along the Amassoma expressway.

Spokesman for the command, Asinim Butswat, a Superintendent of Police, said: “On 21st January 2023 at about 1445 hours, policemen responded to a scene of a lone fatal car accident along Tombia-Amassoma Road, Bayelsa State, and discovered that the only occupant in the vehicle, a Toyota Corrolla with Reg. No. 06H 132 BY was burnt to death.

“Upon inquiries, it was revealed that the deceased was Dr Ayasen Kemeakegha, male, aged 55, the Dean of Student Affairs of the Niger Delta University, Amassoma.

“The corpse has been evacuated to the morgue and investigation is ongoing.”
