How 20 UNICAL Students Were Injured During Examination Stampede
It has been revealed how 20 UNICAL students were injured during examination stampede on Saturday.
Twenty students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) were on Saturday rushed to the university’s teaching hospital following a stampede at an examination hall on the campus.
The stampede occurred where 100-level students from all faculties were billed to write the General Studies and Communication Skills (GSS) examination, which was postponed from Friday to Saturday.
The examination, meant to be taken in batches, saw students rushing to secure a spot from the few available.
Saturday’s GSS examination was meant to be the climax of the institution’s second-semester examinations that started on October 16.
Meanwhile, the university’s management has declined to comment on the incident.
A competent source, however, confirmed the incident. (NAN)
