n-power is a federal government programme created to help reduce poverty in Nigeria. N30,000 are paid to qualified beneficiary. The programme was started during Buhari’s regime as president.

N-Power graduate scheme involves the deployment of thousands of unemployed degree holders to schools and other institutions to work there while the government pays them a stipend of N30,000 monthly.

The payment according to a statement from the ministry of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation began following a verification exercise by the ministry.

Announcing the release of funds Wednesday night, the minister, Dr Betta Edu, said it was indeed a renewed hope for Nigerian youths for the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The minister said President Tinubu’s interest in Nigerian youths was evidenced by the numerous policies and programmes of his administration largely tailored toward providing opportunities for them.

“I stayed awake with the N-Power team till 3 am at the office to ensure N-Power beneficiaries get paid before Christmas in line with the directive of the president.

“Now, I can confirm to you the payment of N-Power beneficiaries has commenced and the evidence is in their bank accounts,” the statement quoted the minister as saying.
