Hoodlums have broken into the Nigeria Correctional Service Centre in Okitipupq, Ondo State.

Our correspondent gathered that the attack happened on Thursday as violence spread to the town following the hijack of the nationwide #EndsSARS protest by some hoodlums.

Inmates were reportedly released by the armed hoodlums who were said to have overpowered the security agents’ at the facility.

No fewer than 58 inmates were said to have been freed while the hoodlums burnt a vehicle and looted the offices.

The attack on the facility was confirmed to journalists by the Public Relations Officer of the NCS in the state, Mr Babatunde Ogundare.
