Plateau Crisis Claims Another 7 Lives
Plateau crisis has claimed another seven lives.
Seven people died during the violence that erupted in Jos metropolis over the killing of 23 travellers on Saturday, Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Edward Egbuka, has said.
This, he said, prompted Governor Simon Lalong to impose the 24-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area.
As reported by The Nation, Egbuka, at a briefing, said the curfew has helped curtail the spread of violence. He met with heads of security agencies behind closed doors.
Egbuka addressed the controversy over the identity of those behind the attacks saying: “These are miscreants and hoodlums who want to take advantage of the situation to cause trouble and loot.
“This is not the first time it has happened. We don’t want to name anybody. It’s just miscreants and miscreants will also want to take advantage.”
